It will never happen; no cartoon kids ever age; Nancy is in her 70’s.

    “Everybody’s beautiful
    In their own way,
    Like a starry summer night,
    Or …”
I don’t remember the rest, it’s been a long time since I heard that song. Always loved the upbeat songs.

“…or a snow-covered winter’s day.” Yep, love this one. Ray Stevens before his comedy songs (“The Streak” “Guitarzan”, etc.)

Blondie’s two kids, Cookie and Alexander, started as toddlers and are now teenagers in the strip. In the “Jump Start” strip the kids are growing up; oldest daughter Sunny first appeared as an infant and now appears to be in middle school.

Other examples of comic kids getting older are Luanne and For Better or Worse (although that’s no longer the case for the latter). And then there’s the extreme example, Gasoline Alley, a comic in which a baby was left on a doorstep. That baby is now a grandfather over ninety years old.

What about kids that haven’t grown up. Dennis The Menace and friends, The Family Circus, even though the mother and the grandmother are. I’m sure that they’re are more such as The Nest Heads.
