Considering that this is Monday sometime, it’s just 4 days and whatever remains of Monday, to Friday midnight when Saturday arrives, not 5 days.

A three day weekend makes Saturday less special.

When Summer vacation ended and school began, the next good thing we had to look fwd to was Halloween!

Well, friends. This is goodbye. Our free Go.comics ends this week. I think the Go.comics brain trust will be surprised when they lose many of their readers. Then their advertisers will drop out or demand lower rates because of lower readership. Then they will want to raise subscriber rates and lose more readers. Good luck to all.

I will miss Fritzi most of all. But, fortunately my wife must be the model Guy uses to draw Fritzi, so I will still have the real thing!

Some people still count it as a full day only because until the bell actually rings, they’re still right smack dab in the middle of it…..
Fire drills, field trips, school assemblies… they were very nice distractions, with a tiny bit of chance for fresh air and the “false hope” of us leaving school for the day, ha ha!…
And when we had lunch and recess outside for that small window of time (though there was a time when some places let kids go home for lunch), we’d wonder why no one tried to make a break for it! (Lol!)….

I’ve heard this rumor elsewhere. I suspect this is just a misinterpretation of an email or notice… What did it actually say?

I checked, and in the daily delivery e-mail of comics, it explains that they are no longer doing the outreach by e-mail, but it didn’t say it was discontinuing anything else.. if you get a daily e-mail of the comics, you may find this same message in yellow alert style at the top…
They’ve always advertised the advantages of going pro (the deep archive digging is a plus in this regard if you enjoy doing so), so maybe he mistook that along with the notification that they are discontinuing the e-mail outreach to be the complete removal of free accounts……

That’s the way I read the email, too. We basic members will still have our accounts, we just won’t get the daily email anymore. It’s not a big loss. The email only had one of my subscribed strips in it anyway, so I still have had to come to the site to see the rest. It was basically a daily reminder.
