Nancy was created by Ernie Bushmiller in the 1930s. Since 1995, the strip has been drawn and written in Bushmiller's classic style by Guy and Brad Gilchrist. Nancy is famed for its gentle humor and surrealistic sight gags. Nancy's childlike innocence never wavers. She remains a devoted friend to her pal Sluggo, and can be, depending on the situation, a conceited prima donna or a fun-loving, cute and cheeky little girl.

I’ve never understood why some of the bums can’t do things like the dishes.

@solarrhino
Because, sadly, it is beyond what they can do in many cases.

Liability, everyone sues. Some cuts themselves or something like that.
Live in shelters, they do work around the center.
Most are schizo.
That’s why!

Phil has really been good for Sluggo.

Sluggo needs one of those industrial remote sprayers, not the wimpy kitchen sink one.

Homeless folks aren’t lazy. I see them with signs that say “Will work for food” all the time…..

If that mission can afford real dishes (as opposed to paper plates and cups), then it sure can afford an automatic dishwasher!
Right?

When you see them with a ’will work for food" sigh, offer them a job and see what they reply.

Yet when you off them work, they get mad and just say “Give me the da*n money” Believe me, I know this for a fact.

Possibly, unless the dishes were donated. A loyt of mission stuff is donated, or bought on the cheap.

A lot of the big ones use tin trays like the military.
