Nancy was created by Ernie Bushmiller in the 1930s. Since 1995, the strip has been drawn and written in Bushmiller's classic style by Guy and Brad Gilchrist. Nancy is famed for its gentle humor and surrealistic sight gags. Nancy's childlike innocence never wavers. She remains a devoted friend to her pal Sluggo, and can be, depending on the situation, a conceited prima donna or a fun-loving, cute and cheeky little girl.

That’s exactly what they said about Andy Warhol.
And look at him now.

Actually, placing those sticks and baseball and apples on a pile of leaves and holding them up is a pretty neat trick.

Christo and the late Jeanne-Claude have nothing to worry about. (He and she were the first “installation artists” to register on my brain so I use them even if it is a tenuous connection) (I don’t consider anything they did “art” anyway.)

I think I know why Nancy’s art teacher is a teacher.
LOL

Warhol used Nancy in one of his paintings:

Seems odd somehow… Gilchrist uses Aunt Frtizi to memorialize every dead rock star you can name and yet not a word on Veteran’s Day memorializing our service men and women. But then again, when I look at his photos (to the right), I see more of Woodstock than I do of Arlington National Cemetary.
Thank you, Veterans, for your service to our country.

Mr. FhvnEd, didn’t the Veterans get enough attention today?

@fdcorey
Wow. Didn’t the veterans get enough attention today? Let me guess. Bet you’d rather hear about The Khardashians or the Real Housewives than to spend an extra second thinking about the men and women who have fought and died so you can have the freedom to express that rather selfish attitude. What happened, did some veteran’s special preempt the Springer show?

Not all of us are warmongers. I have seen several strips dedicated to your Veterans (our Remembrance, my birth)day. Do you want EVERY comic to feature a tribute? We would get sick of the repetition of one idea by the letter F. Which is the first initial of my response to you.

@truecanadianliberal
Well. your name pretty much tells me all I need to know about you. And you’re right. They are MY veterans. Perhaps you’re jaded because the only ones you ever saw were the ones who ran away to your “liberal” country to escape serving mine.

How little you know about our military (once regarded as one of the best in the world). Yesterday I could not turn the TV to a station that did not carry tributes and ceremonies for our veterans. And as for those who could not stand the idea of fighting people halfway across the world for no reason? The peacelovers? I respect the hell out of them. FAR more than I respect the likes of you.

I know most of you saw Sunday’s strip that was inspired by me and a WWII vet when I was a kid….also…if you don’t rad Today’s Dogg here on gocomics, you might start with this one, and the one before it…so check this and then click back…http://www.gocomics.com/todays-dogg

I do the kind of strip I believe I can do the best job on. It is an honest reflection of me. If you think I don’t love and honor our military…then you don’t read this strip very often.Thanks to those who applaud it. Thanks to those who tolerate it. And to those who don’t like it….you’re probably not reading this.
