It is said that the first time Bugs Bunny was shown with a carrot was a parody of a scene with Clark Gable and a carrot in It Happened One Night.
:(Unfortunately I had not heard that when I saw It Happened One Night, so if there is a carrot scene I did not remember it.):
Anyway, carrots then became a permanent fixture of the Bugs Bunny universe, and that is why people believe carrots are rabbits’ ideal food.
