    IIRC, this was one of the early glimpses of the Cartonist’s workroom shelves?

    You tell them, El Jefe!
    (Uhh, didn’t you write, draw, create that conflict? Are you using these poor characters for nefarious purposes?)

    @Sisyphos

    After awhile the characters just sort of write themselves anyway and the author only has so much control over what they do…

    King Arthur must have had Knights of the Blind Table searching for the Grail all those years…

    I am a bit of a newbie here. I have been reading your strip for about two months now, yes I did go to the beginning of the episode as you suggested.
    Over all I like your strip though I am still learning the characters and haven’t quite figured them all out yet. Especially the two in today’s strip. Grail (the elusive holy grail?) and Dudley. What exactly is Dudley anyway? He kind of looks like a can with a flag in his head, which broadcasts his emotions.

    As a child of the sixties and young adult of the mid seventies (dating myself here) your strip has always given me a deja vu of the Cheech Wizard of the old underground comics. I have suspected that you were inspired yt the works of the late Vaughn Bode. Seeing the little guy up on the shelf confirms my suspicions.

    I was always intrigued by that comic also, though I confess I didn’t always understand that work either.

    Please, don’t misinterpret me. I may not get all the characters yet, but I have gotten the jokes and stories. And I have enjoyed them. In fact today’s was dirt (pun intended) obvious. They actually reminded me of my own grandkids playing outside.

    Dudley kicked the grail’s can? Does anyone else have a problem with that?

    @Dave Hussell
    Dudley is a grumpy, armless Scottish knight. The grail is The Grail, come to this universe because it was tired of being pursued at home.

    Speaking of undergrounds, Justin and I had freak brothers comic books when we were kids. Wish I knew were they were now, I’d love to dig them out and read em again.
