Our storm front passed through on Saturday night. We never did get much more than a spritz or two, but it kept the temperatures below 100. Today’s forecast is for 105.
Yesterday was as quiet as expected. Church all morning, read a little, played a little Warcraft, messed with Quicken a bit. All in all, not a very exciting day. (Unless you include finally getting everything older than 2014 archived and purged from the current Quicken file.)
Today looks to be more of the same, except with Michael working in the other room. Last week his business implemented a big change in their reporting system (he works for a medical lab). Of course, that was the week he was on 24 hour call. Usually on-call means keep your phone nearby and nothing else. This time he got several calls in the middle of the night from folks who either didn’t know they had implemented the change or couldn’t understand why they couldn’t do it the old way anyway. Nothing fixable, just arguments with the users. The best one was the woman who called again less than 5 minutes after the message call. He hadn’t even had time to get his computer out of the car and set up on the desk!
