    I grew up under 5 Weeping Willows….Their leaves don’t fall until well after it snows……My snowmen always had pointy leaves sticking out of them…..

    Or he could just not rake the leaves at all. The neighbors all hate him anyway, nothing to lose.

    I learned that not raking leaves gives a strong possibility of your lawn developing a fungus or mould problem.

    My trees dole out their leaves over many weeks. Today, I did a pre-emptive strike on the cherry tree….. I pruned and stripped it by hand. Getting sick of having it hold many of it’s yellowed leaves well into the next Spring!

    If life gives you leaves … make compost.

    Since you’re talking to us, Monty, may I suggest your problem may relate to having leaves that go “ping” when picked up….

    It could be worse. It could be a pin oak. They drop half their leaves, and a million acorns, in the fall and the rest in the spring.

    @Sisyphos

    I agree, leaves that go “ping” inhabit a different reality than ours.

    I have NEVER raked leaves in my life. I let them stay on the lawn and then in spring after the snow melts I just mow over them. My lawn is always never green, no brown spots Except during the deep summer, I don’t usually water because it’s a huge lawn and I live in a rural area.
