No American supermarket stocks any item whose life has been taken from it without its written consent.

I had caviar once. It was good, but for what the stuff costs, I wouldn’t buy it.

I don’t understand how it is possible to ban foie gras on account of its method of production, and keep most of the chicken, and especially fast food chains chicken legal when they spend all their short life in tiny cages stacked in huge warehouses, blind, their beaks and talons cut to avoid them hurting themselves, eating proteins mixed with their feces… and worse. There shouldn’t be 2 standards. Either all foods resulting in extreme cruelty to animals are banned, or none. (On top of that, not only are these factory chicken treated much worse than foie gras ducks and geese, but as a result they taste awful. Whereas the mistreatment of the ducks does at least provide a true delicacy.)
Millions of chicken are thus tortured, far outnumbering the numbers of ducks suffering for foie gras. Until I see only well fed free range chicken sold in supermarket, I’ll call them hypocrites for banning foie gras.

Them’s makes the rules likes their chicken and burgers and steaks. They’re not so keen on unfamiliar foods like foie gras. It’s a cultural thing.

Is that Nigel precipitating the foie gras fight? If so, this may become an excellent opportunity for Sedgie to score some points over his rival by snitching on him!
