Before I retired a few years back, I sold many of them for $400-$1000 in a family owned upscale lighting store in suburban DC. A story for another day.

Or in my poor German, I said that they were hand made in Germany by the wood fairies. That’s is why there were so expensive.
Wood fairies are scarce these days, they are being outsourced somewhere else.

you ‘invested’ in a “public school”. Worst idea ever. Give every kid a voucher for 40% of what you claim to be spending to “educate” her and watch the boutique schools open on every corner, offering exactly the education you want for your kid, and for exactly that price. Want an all-girl school? All homo? No homo? Ethnic studies important to you, or would you prefer the 3Rs? Corporeal punishment, yes or no? It’s all within walking distance. Public education is an insult to America. Where else could a judge have the gall to think he can order a child not to pray?
