Great strip – goes well with the “it’s a tax, it’s a penalty, we don’t know what to call it” statements from Mitt and team. Personally, I’m happy with the reforms.

An individual mandate is fine for a state but, not for the country… wa-wa-whaaaat?

    Ka-ZING!!
When Romney released his plan, it was praised by all the GOP as superior to Democratic “socialized medicine” plans — which, for the record, single payer is not an example of, regardless of what they called it — because it was financially supportable and included individual mandate.
But that was before Obama offered it in place of his plans. Suddenly it is EEEEVIL!!!

You know that the VRWC loves the ACA, right?
Take a look back – and see what the real net effect of Obama’s historic changes have been. More $ for big business and non-workers, less $ for small businesses (those still in existence) and workers. Take off the ‘filters’ and look, look hard. The real winners with the ACA will be the conglomerate, for profit health businesses (and ‘charity’ cases)

Anybody on this page understands that there is a small difference between a state, and the United States . . . . .
    .
According to the actual constitution, States actually have greater powers than the Federal Government . . . .
    .
Massachusetts is arguably the most Left-leaning state in the Union, so it might be OK for them, but it sure as hell is not good for the USA!!!

Have we ever had a president with a Swiss bank account?

There’s an obvious difference. Washington purportedly said “I cannot tell a lie”. Romney has been lying almost since he started running.

    Because our Constitution said so.

    Read the SCOTUS Ruling:

Chief Justice said Under the Commerce Clause, the ACA is indeed Unconstitutional. Roberts went on to say The ACA constitutes a Tax, and therefore is Constitutional under the Taxing Authority of Congress.

So, you were against Romney’s Plan before you were for it.

“According to the actual constitution, States actually have greater powers than the Federal Government..”

Have you even read the Tenth Amendment???

It states as follows: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited to it by the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

In other words, those powers not expressly given to the federal government are given to the States and the people. (As in “We the People…”) Nowhere in that paragraph does it say that the States have — or are supposed to have — “greater powers than the Federal Government”. It simply means that States (and individuals) may not be deprived of powers that aren’t explicitly given to them in the prior Articles and Amendments. The Federal Government has certain powers, and the individual States have certain powers. There is sometimes a certain tension about exactly what those powers are and the extent to which the Federal Government and the States are allowed to use (or not use) them, but that’s what the Judicial Branch (mainly the SCOTUS) is for.

“Obama has been lying since 2008” What? You didn’t see that on NBC News with Brain Williams?

“Chief Justice said Under the Commerce Clause, the ACA is indeed Unconstitutional. Roberts went on to say The ACA constitutes a Tax, and therefore is Constitutional under the Taxing Authority of Congress.”

Go back and actually read his Justice Roberts’ majority opinion. He did not declare the entire ACA a tax. He declared the punishment for non-exempt persons failing to maintain health insurance is a tax.

As a reminder, the individual mandate was a compromise demanded by the Republicans.
