Great strip – goes well with the “it’s a tax, it’s a penalty, we don’t know what to call it” statements from Mitt and team. Personally, I’m happy with the reforms.
Ka-ZING!!When Romney released his plan, it was praised by all the GOP as superior to Democratic “socialized medicine” plans — which, for the record, single payer is not an example of, regardless of what they called it — because it was financially supportable and included individual mandate. But that was before Obama offered it in place of his plans. Suddenly it is EEEEVIL!!!
Anybody on this page understands that there is a small difference between a state, and the United States . . . . ..According to the actual constitution, States actually have greater powers than the Federal Government . . . ..Massachusetts is arguably the most Left-leaning state in the Union, so it might be OK for them, but it sure as hell is not good for the USA!!!
“Chief Justice said Under the Commerce Clause, the ACA is indeed Unconstitutional. Roberts went on to say The ACA constitutes a Tax, and therefore is Constitutional under the Taxing Authority of Congress.”Go back and actually read his Justice Roberts’ majority opinion. He did not declare the entire ACA a tax. He declared the punishment for non-exempt persons failing to maintain health insurance is a tax.As a reminder, the individual mandate was a compromise demanded by the Republicans.
Romney worked with Democrats to fine-tune the Mass. Health Care System. If Romney says his state-run healthcare is bad for the nation, then I believe he knows what he is talking about. Pelosi has no clue on what was passed by congress- she said so.
The people like Romney care as far as I know. I haven’t heard anyone from Mass. that has been here and complained. The whole mandate was a republican idea. It was written up at the Cato Institute, (a conservative think tank) and endorsed by the Heritage FOundation! ’This was being worked toward until the day Obama joined them and wanted it also! Then the republicans did a quick 180* but I expect that the republican leaders are HAppy about it.See, the were tired of taxpayers paying for all those emergency room visits the people who refused to buy insurance were racking up!THe taxpayers have been paying for a huge number of people who don’t buy their own insurance! There is not going to be a sudden monetary burden. It will probably be the same or less even for everyone.
No, not really. I am for the reforms introduced in the Affordable Care Act (e.g., the elimination of the “prior condition” out for insurance companies), and it is better than nothing, but it is far from my first choice. My first choice is something like single-payer; Obama’s second choice (a nonprofit government-sponsored, self-supporting insurance company to cover everyone not already covered) was my second choice. The major flaw in Romneycare is that it continues to give money to insurance companies who are the main reason our healthcare in this country is so screwed up!
Too all those who said it can’t be applied to the USA as a whole, YOU should read what Roberts wrote. That part about it being found CONSTITUTIONAL.LOL!

Long before that. He’s been lying since before he came to this country. It’s all he knows.
