    Well, I weigh 140 pounds and can guarantee that I don’t take performance enhancing drugs. I don’t make millions of bucks, either.

    Mine too, as I read your post. Except mine is more along the motion motivating line.

    I once saw, in person, the NFL-Europe team from Barcelona at an airport. Boy are these guys big! A real menace, good for us “civilians” they use their power and aggression on the field, not off the field – at least most of the time…

    I’m 67 and healthy and trim. Will they make it to 67?
    Looks like they’ve been taking too many calories
    with their testosterone.

    I don’t know if it’s still true, but a study many years ago had pro footballs players having a life expectancy of only 55.

    What exactly is the message of this cartoon? That real men attack a woman and tie her up with their jock straps?

    Poor Twerp isn’t a woman. If you’re looking at “pantywaist” that’s a term for a, typically male, sissy. Just making the point that the two thugs in uniform saw him as fair game, just like everyone else who isn’t them.

    I stand corrected. I didn’t know the use you mention of the word “pantywaist”. I’ve never heard it used that way. But as I think you suggest, your correction doesn’t make the cartoon any better.

    Fans live the game vicariously – they, themselves, will never meet the physical requirements of any of the positions (except perhaps for some of the specialists or coaching staff). It has nothing to do with socialism or gay weasels as some posters slobber on about. Some of those players, being walking bags of testosterone, cannot turn off the aggression. Is that an ok thing or not? Depends on where you are. Ask the patrons at the bar when a shirtless, screaming Incognito was threatening physical violence like an enraged orangutan. Gee, wanting him to moderate his behavior is not socialism , is it?

    @Adrian Snare

    Man is a social creature, by nature… We, as Americans are not nearly social enough.

    I took Social Sciences classes in college. I’m pretty sure football fits in there somewhere….

    BTW, I notice you dressed down DEERFLATENER for expressing his opinion, but I’ve never seen you chastise TROUT for ending all his posts “That’s the way it is. PERIOD!” Why is that?

    Says the Canadian whose national motto is “I went to a fight the other night and a hockey game broke out.”

    One might observe from reading these posts that few of the above are real fans of the game. Dr C keeps tipping the football ,trying to get the wine out. Snare can’t discuss the topic at hand so he resorts to insults. Zuhlamon catches the essence of the game more closely than others but misses the point that players need self control both on and off the field. Ghost keeper completes a hail Mary for me – Gladiator Football League! It is the nature of the beast to be aggressive when confronted , thus sports bring out the best in individuals at times and sadly the worst at other times! Good training , coaching and rules help but any atmosphere as competitive as the dolphins locker room will always be dicy!

    At halftime , in the locker room where it’s always been. Or you can wear it under your uniform.
