    If it’s a poodle, why are conservatives so terrified of it going into effect and helping so many Americans? Do they really want this conservative health care reform to fail, so that single payer becomes the only possible option?

    Like that foreign Zoo “lion” that barked?
    In other words, A FAKE.

    IMO O’s ACA is merely a rung on a short ladder to Government Single Payer totalitarianism for “healthcare”…
    Abortion at the beginning of life, and if you are over age 65 and sick, take an aspirin and go home to die.

    Not a Christian ounce of compassion in the entre Demoncrat Party.

    P.S. my favorite breed of dog is Poodle with “puppy cut” hair.
    2nd is the Water Dog favored by the Obama family and was the favorite of Raymond Burr, I believe.

    In the 70s Jimmy Carter worked for and signed the affordable housing act saying everybody had the right to own a home. Thirty years later it all fell apart, how long will it take Obamacare to fall apart?

    Everybody might have the right to health care and housing but the government or an individual haven’t the right to force you to help them.

    There is a zoo in China that tried to pass off a large dog in a fur coat as a lion. The ruse was discovered when it started barking.

    “It is amazing that people who think we cannot afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, and medication somehow think that we can afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, medication, and a government bureaucracy to administer it.”

    @Jim Guess

    Mr. Sowell should have noted that we cannot afford to pay doctors, hospitals, and medication, and a free-market for-profit bureaucracy to administer it. I’m sure the omission was completely accidental, but it makes his statement much less impressive if we add it. Actually, it makes his statement pretty much worthless.

    I wonder if it was intentional that Ramirez chose a French poodle since the French are almost as useless as Obama and Obamacare are?

    “but the government or an individual haven’t the right to force you to help them.”

    But it does in the old, crumbling, collapsing system that Obamacare replaces. When people need emergency care because they haven’t taken meds that are too expensive to buy, they go to the emergency room for “unfunded” care. Who pays? The taxpayers and the people who have insurance, that’s who.

    We have two alternatives: one is to ensure everyone contributes to their care (which Obamacare does, however clumsily), or just tell people that if they have no means to pay for treatment to go away and die quietly. There is no middle ground.

    Of course, single payer would force everyone to contribute to the cost of care, and would eliminate the profit motive and the need to spend untold millions in seven-figure CEO salaries, marketing, and other non-health-related costs.

    Don’t like Obamacare? Propose something better. Complaining without contributing a better solution is childish, unproductive, and a waste of all of our time.
