If it’s a poodle, why are conservatives so terrified of it going into effect and helping so many Americans? Do they really want this conservative health care reform to fail, so that single payer becomes the only possible option?

Like that foreign Zoo “lion” that barked? In other words, A FAKE.-IMO O’s ACA is merely a rung on a short ladder to Government Single Payer totalitarianism for “healthcare”…Abortion at the beginning of life, and if you are over age 65 and sick, take an aspirin and go home to die.-Not a Christian ounce of compassion in the entre Demoncrat Party.-P.S. my favorite breed of dog is Poodle with “puppy cut” hair.2nd is the Water Dog favored by the Obama family and was the favorite of Raymond Burr, I believe.

There is a zoo in China that tried to pass off a large dog in a fur coat as a lion. The ruse was discovered when it started barking.

I wonder if it was intentional that Ramirez chose a French poodle since the French are almost as useless as Obama and Obamacare are?

I also read that they painted other dogs black and white to pose as pandas. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/-chinese-zoo-tries-passing-dog-off-as-lion—180952559.html

So, again, if you don’t like it, come up with something better. Shouting how bad it is is nothing but a waste of time.

My suggestion, as you know: single payer. Add a national sales tax, for example, so that even those who don’t pay income taxes, and even those unemployed, pay for their coverage. I could be wrong. Feel free to come up with something better.

The free market is a wonderful thing, and I have never said it isn’t. And the insurance companies are doing everything that for-profit companies are supposed to do: Reduce the risk (don’t cover anyone who is likely to need expensive care) and charge what the market will bear. This has created a situation where people who can afford insurance will buy it. Those who cannot, or are not acceptable to insurance companies, do without. Then they present to emergency rooms so that someone else will pay for their care, and that care is more expensive for two reasons: one is that they have let the conditions get way out of control, so they require more tests, meds, and doctor time to fix these problems, and the fact that emergency room care is outrageously expensive.

One size definitely does not fit all. If you can’t afford a new TV or a new car, don’t buy one. It’s optional. Some people need dialysis or they’ll die where they stand. Do YOU want to be the one who says: “Sorry. No means to pay? How do you intend to pay for your funeral arrangements?”

It is just plain stupid to think that anyone believes that making a profit is evil. We all gotta eat. Making obscene profits taking advantage of other people is even proscribed in the Bible, that crazy bit of liberal looniness that seemingly has not gone out of style in thousands of years.

So go curse the darkness instead of lighting a candle, if it makes you happy.

And, as far as doctors being “wards of the state”; now I am a ward of the insurance industry. And here’s a fine example for you: last week I saw a patient for an eye exam and contact lens fitting. We went online and received prior authorization before seeing the patient. The insurance company has now decided they will pay nothing. I get the patient’s $15 co-pay, and that’s it. Why? No one at the insurance company can or will tell us. No one seems to have the authority to tell whether the PROMISED payment will ever arrive. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. Screw you, doc. Now, if you were this patient, you wouldn’t know I worked basically for free (oh, the horror of not making a profit!!!!), because I am prohibited from billing the patient for what the insurance company said it would pay, but won’t. Happens all the time.

Maybe if you understood things other than superficially, you’d notice that things are not always so simple. And one of the best ways to understand is to pay attention when people who are directly involved try to educate you. You might learn something valuable.

Cute takeoff on the China zoo story, but as usual, Ramirez has it backassward.

Harly, yes standards are very intelligent, we had several, and one “ate” two burglars to prove they’re also “protective”(Jill weighed 120 pounds). But, we also kept our poodles in field cut, never the “foo foo” cuts used for shows, NOT hunting or field work. They’re also hypo-allergenic, like Portugese water dogs, and lanolin in the coat prevents fleas!

Is the Massachusetts Health Care Program working? I suspect it is not – but that won’t stop the DIMS, I mean, the DEMS.

“We have two alternatives: one is to ensure everyone contributes to their care. But it does not do that! 30 million will still be not insured. Most of those not insured will be white and working. The ones Obamacare is trying to recruit? Young and hispanic!”The original assumption was that around 26 million people who are currently uninsured would choose to pay the opt-out tax rather than get insurance. That number will swell to 30 million because of red states that were permitted to refuse the Medicaid provisions by the Supreme Court. How you figure that Obama is “recruiting” people who are “young and hispanic” is a mystery. Do they get a bigger subsidy? No. Are there separate exchanges in Spanish that give better rates? Don’t think so. The ACA is color blind. Try to prove otherwise. The article doesn’t make support your point. The one graph showing uninsured by race doesn’t even show ‘Hispanics’ as a group! What would be better than the ACA? Anyone who thinks the current system is sustainable has not looked at the skyrocketing cost of their insurance over the last 20 years.
