but but but they were just doing the job of making sure non liberal groups write their book reports. And just because before the election we told you that the IRS will not be involved in Obamacare, guess what? IRS is going to be the collection agency for the tax/penalty. I for one Harleyquinn Green Liberal, feel this is the way it should be…..

The reactionary right needs to keep this “scandal” going even with the dearth of any new information. Lest someone in the media discover that there’s a real scandal involving illegal conduct, perjury and major violation of tax law by the very “social welfare” organizations that the IRS focused on. All to keep dark money flowing into Republican campaign coffers with no disclosure.

“Maybe party primaries should all be eliminated, as they have been here in California. There is no value in giving the minority party (the Republicans) equal support and equal billing in elections.
    -
“Here in California we have one all-party primary. The two top candidates of whatever party advance to the general election. As a result we have ZERO Republicans in statewide office,
    -
“We also redistrict by a non-partisan committee of judges (who are disqualified if they have run for office on a party ticket). The entire Republican majority in the House is the result of gerrymandering by Republican state administrations. The non partisan approach should be required in all 50 states.”

Still with the Faux-conspiracies. How about some facts:
•Over 80 percent of applications submitted for tax-exempt status were from conservative organizations – most of whom bragged about or openly engaged in political activity
•The only org to have its tax-exempt status revoked was one run by Democratic women to try and encourage more women to run for office.
•501©(4) orgs don’t have to apply for approval of their tax-exempt status. If they do not apply, there is a risk of audit and disqualification down the road, but they are not required to apply to be a 501©(4) entity
•Despite claims from the likes of Rush Limbaugh and FOX News, there was no limitation imposed by the IRS on these groups’ ability to influence the 2012 election
•Many of the IRS requests for info came about because of activities observed by agents in real time
    .
It’s clear that the right wing is doing everything they can to whip up anger over this and other “scandals” in the hopes they can influence voters in 2014. Hell, even the chief staffer for Michele Bachmann admitted that it’s ok to spew lies if her constituents believe it:

    @Zuhlamon How about some facts:"

It was a coordinated “leak” in a Q&A that it was admitted that they targeted anything with tea party in it BEFORE the election. There is even a documented story of a guy who only changed the name to “green” and he was approved in 3 week after being rejected for almost a year. The damn has broken and individuals are coming out telling how after Donating to an R they and their business came under fire from the IRS.
Sorry but this thing goes deep.
Despite claims from the likes of Rush Limbaugh and FOX News, there was no limitation imposed by the IRS on these groups’ ability to influence the 2012 election"
Um really? how can you say that? They did not get their say before the election. That was the intent. If it would not have done anything then why did they try so hard to shut them down?

That may be true but she was not put into limbo and asked questions about how she prayed. She was able to reapply right? Those with a R sounding name could not go forward with new plans.

Oh so you the liberal can start crying swift boat and other such claims? Risk it? Are you crazy? This is the IRS you OVER PAY by 2$ and they will hit you with a 200 dollar FINE!

citation please, and if so, so what, it is not the job of the IRS to care if they are on the side of the R or the D. If so then every applicant should have been rejected but they admitted to only targeting those oppose to the D. THAT is the linchpin in the matter. Not that they were political. After the fact nail them to the wall if you can prove it, or beforehand if you do it to all. But you can not single out one side over the other if you are the IRS. Sorry can not do it!

501c4 groups are supposed to be “social welfare” organizations. Lying Teabaggers should be investigated and metaphorically shot down.

The toon reminds me folks might want to go back to that era and look at “politics” in New Jersey, Miami, and the link to Havana and the “Jewish Mafia”, not just the Italians. Hmm, comparing Chicago to Florida today might be interesting as Florida remains a lot more corrupt than Chicago.
