The reactionary right needs to keep this “scandal” going even with the dearth of any new information. Lest someone in the media discover that there’s a real scandal involving illegal conduct, perjury and major violation of tax law by the very “social welfare” organizations that the IRS focused on. All to keep dark money flowing into Republican campaign coffers with no disclosure.

On lobbyists – “If you can’t eat their food, drink their booze, screw their women and then vote against them, you have no business being up here.”

“Maybe party primaries should all be eliminated, as they have been here in California. There is no value in giving the minority party (the Republicans) equal support and equal billing in elections.
“Here in California we have one all-party primary. The two top candidates of whatever party advance to the general election. As a result we have ZERO Republicans in statewide office,
“We also redistrict by a non-partisan committee of judges (who are disqualified if they have run for office on a party ticket). The entire Republican majority in the House is the result of gerrymandering by Republican state administrations. The non partisan approach should be required in all 50 states.”
tip of the cap to Bill Benton, San Francisco
Actual democracy: it’s something to think about…

Still with the Faux-conspiracies. How about some facts:
•Over 80 percent of applications submitted for tax-exempt status were from conservative organizations – most of whom bragged about or openly engaged in political activity
•The only org to have its tax-exempt status revoked was one run by Democratic women to try and encourage more women to run for office.
•501©(4) orgs don’t have to apply for approval of their tax-exempt status. If they do not apply, there is a risk of audit and disqualification down the road, but they are not required to apply to be a 501©(4) entity
•Despite claims from the likes of Rush Limbaugh and FOX News, there was no limitation imposed by the IRS on these groups’ ability to influence the 2012 election
•Many of the IRS requests for info came about because of activities observed by agents in real time
It’s clear that the right wing is doing everything they can to whip up anger over this and other “scandals” in the hopes they can influence voters in 2014. Hell, even the chief staffer for Michele Bachmann admitted that it’s ok to spew lies if her constituents believe it:

501c4 groups are supposed to be “social welfare” organizations. Lying Teabaggers should be investigated and metaphorically shot down.

The toon reminds me folks might want to go back to that era and look at “politics” in New Jersey, Miami, and the link to Havana and the “Jewish Mafia”, not just the Italians. Hmm, comparing Chicago to Florida today might be interesting as Florida remains a lot more corrupt than Chicago.

I find most anything about Michelle Bachman distasteful, and was willing to believe your post, but then I went to the URL you posted and couldn’t find what you posted.

Shouldn’t that be the Cincinnati way? Oh right, then you can’t attempt to connect it to POTUS.

Simple isn’t it? They might actually be guilty? Who thinks some IRS office workers gets a bonus for acting like Capone? The TBers would swear an orange isn’t.
