“Drug Company Profits thru the Roof. AARP Health Care Insurance Profits Thru the Roof……Their pay back for supporting ObamaCare.”

Obamacare? You must mean the health insurance reform legislation originated by the Heritage Group conservative think tank, championed Bob Dole during his presidential campaign, and signed into MA law by conservative Mitt Romney.

TO ALL THE NITWITS STILL USING THE TERMOBAMACARE
It was not Obama’s first choice — that was single-payer, like Canada, which would save vast amounts of money and create huge efficiencies. He didn’t even TRY that.
It was not Obama’s second choice — that was a nonprofit insurance company that would serve anyone not covered by their own plan, and would save vast amounts of money by eliminating the profit factor. The GOP shot it down, because the so-called “free-marketeers” are afraid of competition. (Fun fact – most insurance companies have little or no competition.)
It was a plan created by a former Private Equity CEO which forced people to pay MORE money to insurance companies, but which was widely praised by Republicans for having an individual responsibility factor in it. Also for funding insurance companies.
It is Romneycare. It works pretty well on a state level, but it is nowhere near what it could be if Obama had ACTUALLY gotten what he WANTED.
So enough with the “Obamacare,” okay? It’s a Republican plan from first to last with perhaps one exception: forbidding “pre-existing conditions.” God forbid the GOP should actually look out for average Americans being screwed over by Big Business.

True! Thanks motive. I have to say my Canadian relatives think the GOP supporters are total fools, as Canadians they enjoy a stable, effective health care system.

Insurance profits as a percentage are low.

Sure, it is bad for the people and good for the deep pockets, but that doesn’t mean it is perfect. It can always be made better. People still have a choice. We can get rid of that.

Motive: sure I don’t have to tell you the “repubtards” who follow Rush and Issa, etc., will never be able to recognize, or accept the truth. Propaganda CAN be a good thing, like during WW II, “loose lips sink ships”, but today’s Republican “leadership” make “keep telling a lie and the people will believe it”, understatement.

Did you hear the one about the pot that called the kettle a cooking utensil? Amazing how often humans will refer to each other as pernicious and perfidious purveyors of falsehoods. I guess that is when they invoke their Papal Cloak of Infallibility.

Their (insurance provider) profits would be greater if they didn’t have to pay extra to make up for the “free” care given to government-sponsored patients which doesn’t meet the actual costs of care. Of course, they get most of that back in premiums, but competition is fierce, so they have to cut premiums and therefore profits as much as they can and still stay in business. They have to really have a good volume of customers to get ahead at all.
