    Has the NRA given any viable, credible solution? Better enforcement of laws already on the books but then call for the abolition of back ground checks. All I’ve heard from the NRA is “you have to do this”, but then “we won’t allow it because that’s infringing on the 2nd amendment.”

    And then forcing congress to prevent the appropriate agencies from tracking and compiling usable data to actually be able to quantify the problem and then propose a solution.

    The question is: liberals only freak out when they make a crisis. The NRA educates people on the right way to handle guns. Could someone point out where a liberal does anything except take money or things from people?

    It’s interesting how the NRA makes up their own like that totally fraudulent “crimes prevented because citizens had guns”. Pure B.S.

    Please explain your logic.

    You say tightening gun laws will reduce gun violence. If you believe this to be true, why does Chicago, a city with very Strict Gun Control laws have one of if not the highest Gun Violence Rates in the entire USA?

    Since they have very Strict Gun Control laws, shouldn’t their Gun Violence rate be Zero or close to zero?

    @Tigger If no one is keeping Gun Crime Data there is no way of knowing any of the statistics. You say Chicago has the highest Gun Violence rates but Baltimore does not keep track. If no one is keeping track than no one knows anything and anything said is BS.

    Federal data on gun ownership have dwindled and public funding for gun research has all but dried up. Private foundations, with few exceptions, have left the field. Underreported crime figures and inconsistent enforcement of gun laws further frustrate analysis. Researchers say they don’t have access to enough data to draw firm conclusions.

    Can we get a book of statistics on how big government tyranny crimes could be prevented by adhering to the Constitution and limiting the ability of possible future mad tyrants to obtain and irresponsibly wield power? Of course, killing millions deliberately and with purpose isn’t the same as randomly killing dozens without any real provocation or rational thought process. It’s much worse. As Death said when he encountered a man who fled far to avoid him, “I was suprised to see you there, because I had an appointment with you here.” Irony is always delicious, hot or cold.

    The truth hurts you, doesn’t it? Look at Chicago. 94% of of gunman that shot and wounded someone got away without criminal charges. But if you want to go on feeling better about spouting ignorant tripe, go ahead.

    The moment the NRA demands that a permanent head of the ATF be nominated and confirmed I am going to take them seriously (or at least a bit more than now)…

    Gun nuts keep talking about the gun murder rates in Chicago even with strict controls. They seem to forget that SCOTUS made Chicago eliminate the handgun ban. The murder rates had been going down before that, now they are rising. So while the criminals could still get guns from neighboring areas before, it is now easier so the murder rates have gone UP.

    @Tigger

    Since SCOTUS mandated that Chicago get rid of the handgun ban, gun murders have been going up; before the ban was lifted they were going down. While previously criminals could get guns from surrounding areas (which negates your ZERO statement), now it is more convenient with deadly results.
