It’s interesting how the NRA makes up their own like that totally fraudulent “crimes prevented because citizens had guns”. Pure B.S.

@Tigger If no one is keeping Gun Crime Data there is no way of knowing any of the statistics. You say Chicago has the highest Gun Violence rates but Baltimore does not keep track. If no one is keeping track than no one knows anything and anything said is BS.

Federal data on gun ownership have dwindled and public funding for gun research has all but dried up. Private foundations, with few exceptions, have left the field. Underreported crime figures and inconsistent enforcement of gun laws further frustrate analysis. Researchers say they don’t have access to enough data to draw firm conclusions.

All I’ve heard from the NRA is “you have to do this”, but then “we won’t allow it because that’s infringing on the 2nd amendment.”.If you don’t listen, you’re just spouting ignorant nonsense.

Chicago has no gun shops so people just go outside the area. This is why we need more uniform laws. Hear about the 15 year old girl who was in the band in the inaugural parade and she was shot in a park in the daytime?7,400 gun crimes or unpermitted uses in Chicago compared to 3, 285 in New York City.http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/30/us/strict-chicago-gun-laws-cant-stem-fatal-shots.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

The murder rate in Chicago is high because the number of guns there is high. It’s a no-brainer, and a vivid example of more guns means more violence, the opposite of the fact-free tripe that the NRA is peddling.

crimes have been stopped by a homeowner using his/her gun to defend and protect when there was no time or opportunity to call the police and wait…..-why don’t you anti-NRA posters and cartoonists stick by what NRA actually says about the current Obama crusade to step by step erode the 2nd Amentment?http://www.nrapublications.org/index.php/14936/presidents-column-34/

BTW: that much touted NRA/JBS figure of 20,000 plus “gun laws”, nationwide, boils down to around 300. Couple law schools and universities looked into the claim, but of course we all know only “liberals” have any connection to colleges or universities. Hmmm, considering our right-wing trolls here?? that might be partially true.
