Oh, but if they’re in the back-pocket of Obama, then it’s okay. Still waiting for them to vette that moron…

Major Nidal Hasan of the Fort Hood is not accurately described in the right frame. Neither, is he being investigated while he remains under Brack H. Obama’s protection.

Are these comments for real? Conservative conspiracy theories have hit a new low. Earth to conservatives: Obama is not a Muslim, and has not intervened in the case of Nidal Hasan. The case HAS been investigated (of course) and he’s scheduled to stand trial in June on 13 counts of premeditated murder, with the prosecution seeking the death penalty.

^ We reject that information. It is completely irrelevant to the subject under discussion as it is not in agreement with our previously held beliefs.

Perhaps you misunderstand what vetting is. The purpose is only to ensure a person meets the qualifications of the job for which they are applying. The Constitution says one must be a natural born citizen ( the birther conspiracy has been disproven many times) of at least 35 years of age. Further vetting is to make sure there are no criminal records, which Obama does not have. As far as past associates, those do not come into play unless the candidate personally was involved in activities which could be considered a conflict of interest. George W Bush is the grandson of a man (Prescott Bush) who was brought before congress and accused of plotting a military coup in the 1930’s with the intention of installing a government more sympathetic to Hitler and the Nazis. That does not disqualify him or his father from being President, because they did not do it. If Obama had any criminal records or legal scandals, he would have had them revealed independently during the campaign (there are plenty within the FBI and CIA who would have gladly come forward – he is not known for having friends in either agency). What further vetting do you think needs done?

The only kind of vetting that would satisfy a CONservative is the kind that says he can’t be president. Since no such information exsists, they will never be satisfied. I mean, we know as much about Obama as we did bushie jr. If Obama has never been vetted, then neither has bushie.

Fourcrows — do you have any links supporting your claim that Prescott Bush was brought before Congress and accused of plotting a military coup? A quick search didn’t show up anything of the sort. He was, however, linked to the beginnings of the CIA.

Maybe if the “press” in this country hadn’t been looking for a fight with any Arab or Muslim nation because they’re “just wrong”, since 1948, some of our conflicts in the MIddle East and south Asia might never have taken off? Amazing how only one country in the region always gets a “hall pass” in our media.

As to the actual statement in the ‘toon, maybe if we weren’t IN Afghanistan, no Afghans would have a reason to shoot Americans, or be getting shot??

This link is one of the more recent ones I found, but I’m still old school. I learned about this in the eighties, when my grandfather showed me an article he saved from the Cleveland Plain Dealer from 1933 about the original Congressional investigation. He showed it to me because GHW Bush was VP at the time, and he felt betrayed that a man from what he called an un-American family was VP. Also read Shirer’s “Rise and Fall of the Third Reich” or Speer’s “Inside the Third Reich”. Both touch on Hitler’s belief that supporters like Bush, Lindbergh, and Ford would sway the American public in his favor.
It was known as the “Business Plot”, so you may find more information with that search. I’m a serious history buff with a special interest in the world politics from 1918 to 1950, so I have a ton of useless information available.

^ Also look up under Maj. General Smedley Butler. He was the accuser, a Roosevelt supporter who Bush allegedly approached about the coup. BTW, nobody was prosecuted in the end, but it is a fascinating case.

Everytime you post, you show your ignorance. Now you also shown you are functionally illiterate. The right panel represents an Afghan who has killed foreign troops (yes, there are other nationalities in addition to Americans stationed in Afghanistan).
Afghanistan has a corrupt leader, who was imposed on the Afghani people by foreign powers meeting in Bonn- 3,200 miles from Kabul- in 2002.
How would any person feel about his country being occupied by foreign troops that are propping up a corrupt and incompetent government?

the post with 10 steps to fascism is very important. This needs to be read and remembered. All 10 are in place. president Obama recently did a stronger veto of indefinite detention, but fascism is alive and well in the the tea party movement.
