Been on both sides of the ‘toon. Granted, we didn’t really call Viet Cong “terrorists” as they were just commies or insurgents, but protocols in combat kept me alive, dispite other’s “best efforts” at times, and protocols also kept me healthy and safe as an EMT, even when handling folks with highly contagious, and potentially lethal, infections.
We need to get a grip and look at what goes into “doing the job”, and doing it right. I respect the demonstrated professions, and just wish the “public” had even a slight clue, along with the media and politicians, about what these folks do, and how they do it when they’re proficient.
