    Re: timing chains-

    AGREED! What a cruel joke played on us by the car manufacturers when they went to timing belts and interference valves. Replacing timing belt costs $300 – $600 or more and if you don’t do it in time, lose your motor! Back when I drove Chevettes, it cost me $20 for the part and I could change it myself in 40 minutes at the side of the road. AND my engine would not blow up if it went while running.

    I can barely wait til I can buy my first electric car- only ONE moving part to the engine!
