The Old Wolf

The simple fact that she’s coming up with a blended noun for the relationship indicates that she’s really not mature enough to have a solid one. But I’ll be interested to see how it all plays out anyway.

When and If Quill arrives, I wonder how Luann will arrange it so that they do not get together. She works hard at that.

Bernice, please do not make it seem worse than it really was. It was 5:17, not 5. It would have been rude of Luann to call at 5 in the morning, but there is no problem with 5:17. The day is half over.

What’s the odds that he arrives, they’ve both got pictures in their heads of what a wonderful relationship they will have, but they’ve actually both changed more than they realised when they were apart, and the whole thing fizzles sadly out . . .

Just don’t be an annoying item, and if you ever call me at 5:17 am again, I will plot your murder in exquisite detail.

Not sure I’d read that much into that.

One wonders if she’s already thinking husband-wife. Given how my generation turned out, with those who married young staying married and those who waited usually going through a series of divorces, maturity with age is definitely not a given.
