@dzw3030The process was, I believe, discovered by the Chinese. There is a caterpillar there that lives on mulberry leaves and the cocoons they spin are, if I remember correctly, soaked and then unwound and spun into silk. (Can remember things I read as a child, just don’t ask me where I put my purse!)
