Big money owns the Republican Party. The Democratic Party has swung too far into the middle, in the mistaken hope that the Republican Party will meet them there, and patriotically help improve things for all Americans.

Despite a few corrupt organizers, the labor movement is a good force standing between the little man and those who would make us all into serfs.

Do your homework. ‘Three percent’ is either a mistake or a misrepresentation.

After 25 years of dealing with longshoremen. They impressed me as lazy do nothings,or as little as possible. They come in late and leave early.Almost 2 hours for lunch. If the weather is bad half don’t show up.Drug and alcohol use on the job.Sleeping on the job.Sex on the job.You get the picture. No I don’t think much of union employees.

Sounds like management was not doing a very good job of supervising either. I doubt that goofing off is limited to union workers if oversight is inadequate.

There are good unions and there are bad unions, but to brand them all with the faults of the bad unions would be wrong. Unions have been very necessary for the strengthening of living standards and work standards for the working classes.

Having a dictator is not the middle. Where do you get this stuff?

There was a marvelous Simpson’s episode, ‘Last Exit to Springfield’ with a flashback to when Mr Burns’ grandfather ran the nuclear power plant in the 19th century, back when workers had to smash atoms with sledgehammers.

After Grandfather Burns fires a worker for having some atoms in his pocket, the worker says, “You can’t treat the working man this way. One day, we’ll form a union and get the fair and equitable treatment we deserve! Then we’ll go too far, and get corrupt and shiftless, and the Japanese will eat us alive!”

The Righteous Judge will remember the Unions selfishness! And also Obama’s using his power to buy their votes!

Union support in Wisconsin has faded largely because the unions were ineffective. I was not sorry to see them go because they spent all their energy trying to stop out-sourcing rather than fighting for better wages and less reductions in benefits. They cared more about gaining dues paying members than about people falling behind. Then I lost my “permanent” classified job, and was blackballed by the university I worked 17 years for, because I offended my boss by something I said. It’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t join type of organization.

You may be right about Big Money owning the Democratic party. However, the Republican Party has no agenda to help the average person. The Republican Party is all about making a handful rich, while the rest of us become serfs and servants.

“Disingenuous remark”? No. I believe what I said.

Are some unions bad? Of course. They are human organizations, and therefore by definition fallible. Many, however, are good, and have improved the lives of working men and women, and reduced if not eliminated child labor in America.

Show me an alternative, and I will sign up. I’d be glad to do so. In the mean time, I’ll stay in my union, where the officers are not paid, and where the highest aim of our work force is an improved product.

Wealth inequality and worker exploitation are two of the most serious problems America faces.

A dictator? No, no. Perhaps you are using the word incorrectly. A dictator is a person who rules with sole power. In other words, no Congress or equivalent, no courts, except false ones to keep up appearances. If there were a dictator in America, people in government who opposed that person would find themselves in “re-education camps” or in graves. You would, in my opinion, be foolhardy to post such a characterization, if you truly believed that America is ruled by a dictator.

Unions ARE big money. The libs just have never been willing to face the fact that the same hypocritical accusations they make about the repubs being owned by big money are true of the libs/dems. And the libs pander to big business to a certain degree, as well. Why do you think it is that illegal aliens face only token resistance in slithering across our borders? Both sides are listening to the desire for cheap labor by business.
