Another Democrat promise of everything to everybody, all for “free”, until it isn’t.

Thank you for your kind consideration, but California itself is doing far better under Jerry Brown, than it was doing under Arnold Schwarzenegger!

This is a very widespread problem. People are living longer and having fewer kids. Not just in America, but over the majority of Europe too.
However, if we extend immigration we will get a boost to the working population that can afford to pay for pensions.

The immigrants I see are the ones doing the work.

There is a problem in America of people wanting free stuff – wars at $2 billion per week and 800 foreign military base to extend the empire are the biggest offenders. If people want this stuff, they are going to have to pay higher taxes, and it is the people with the money who are able to pay who will protest the loudest. ergo – It is the rich who want free stuff.

Good thing the moronic simpletons have the unions to blame or else they might have to see the real problems, some of those being corporate welfare and people who pay to little or no taxes.

    @Gypsy8

    how flawed is your logic?

    “people” want free stuff.

“free stuff” is PAID for with taxes (first flaw. If you pay for something it isn’t free)

Those with the ability to PAY do not want to.

Those with the money to pay then want “free” stuff. (second flaw. Why? because they do not receive free stuff but you want them to pay to give free stuff for other people)

In case you missed it, those that have money acquire that money by engaging in some enterprise. Be it legal or not, they expended effort, time and energy, and placed themselves in position to fail in order to succeed.

Those who want the “free stuff” do none of that.

HOWEVER, I must agree that the waste on war and military outposts is deplorable and should be stopped.

And California was doing far better under Ronald Reagan than either of those two.

“No matter what the business is, we wind up paying.”

Oddly, when corporations did pay taxes, and when the wealthy paid taxes, everybody in the country was better off.

As soon as deregulation was nicely in place, the Propaganda Machine started pumping out the opinion you just expressed. Those of us who remember know better.

You can only have equality and justice for all if all pay their share.

But – that varies from state to state. In states which don’t require DNA, the father can challenge and demand same. The process frequently deprives the child in question of resources, while the bureaucrats squabble, but what does that matter? The real issue is to punish all possible parties that can be dragged into the situation, regardless of the extent of their participation.

With that many contortions, I hope you didn’t put your back out!
    .
“….“free stuff” is PAID for with taxes (first flaw. If you pay for something it isn’t free)…”
    .
No, not necessarily paid with taxes. You can pay for it with borrowed money – just continue to run up the deficit. Then you get the “goods” without you personally paying – free stuff. Somebody else down the road may or may not eventually pay.
    .
The “free stuff” can be for others or for the rich. If the free stuff is to extend the Empire, the most likely beneficiaries are the rich.
    .
Thankfully, your last two sentences did make sense.

A decent question. But, at least Obama’s response is much more measured and with other nation’s participation than with previous administration’s responses.
    .
You, yourself just finished calling the situation in Egypt “the latest Egyptian revolution.”

Does anyone remember King Ronnie and his administration who said it was alright to raid pension funds to increase corporate profits?
    I thought not.
