An imperfect world has consequences, just like Aurora, CO.

    I grieve for all.

Well, it will grow. They will be back. And remember. This will not happen again. In no team. That’s the most positive I can get out of this whole thing…

all those sanctions. vacate all those wins. all players are free agents. conference won’t share revenue. serves them right. but, they should have done more. ban all athletics for 25 years. no sports program. put the emphasis of the school back to academics. kick psu out of the conference. because, joepa knew that he was raping kids. no amount of money, apologies, or corrective actions can ever recover the victims’ childhoods. now, there are guys saying sandusky abused them back in 70s, and 80s. every penn state grad who interviews for a job, will be asked about sandusky.

Forgiveness can happen eventually. But. trust can never be gained again. The top brass of all university across the country . will now need a S.O.P that covers similar situations to give immediate action.

Collateral damage. Sandusky destroyed the lives of so many young boys/now men. There are more out there, I have a feeling lots more, who may never come forward. What he did to then was unconscionable. Because of his actions, there will be a lot of far reaching consequences for years to come, not as horrific as those poor boys, but fallout none the less for many people who had nothing to do with any of it. Do you understand what I mean? But the punishments have to be metered out, and innocent bystanders suffer the “collateral damage” because of one dirty rotten “human”? being and those who tried to hide it. They are all gone from Penn State now, but the damage they caused will be there for a long time! Not just the university, but the whole town, the county, the state.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding your comment, but I see a similarity with sending drones to wipe out a specific “target” and anyone who happens to be within 100 yards or so. It’s okay because if they weren’t co-conspirators they wouldn’t be near the “target” – right?

I have seen similar stories and I agree Much like the girls who got severely sunburned on a field trip because the teachers were not permitted to put sunblock on the students because they had nothing on file allowing them to.
But you see, there will be collateral damage. I gather you don’t live in PA or you would understand. And it has nothing to do with loyalty to a football program or anything even like that. I was never a Penn State or Joe fan ever, and I grew up here. I can’t put into words what I am trying to say.

Paterno said, “No comment.” (I was about to say the same thing out of respect for the victims…)

Now Old Man Paterno had troubles of his own,
because the Penn State coverup, wouldn’t leave his home.
But, the cat came back, the very next day.
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner
But, the cat came back, he just couldn’t stay away.

Give it a rest. And why should an institute of higher learning have a football program?

And Google is a great authoritative base upon which to base any such assumption without fact? Get a life and get real.

Even the Ivy League schools have a football program. There is nothing wrong with the sport of football, it all comes down to how you handle it.

Football is THE most damaging “mental illness” in America, and leads to a LOT more “violence” and arrogance than any video game, but the sports books love it more than the “fans”.
