You’ll grow a hump if you use them too long.

It does pay to get the very best. In 1975, I paid $700* for a Bang & Olufsen stereo system. 36 years later and I still use it.

    *That’s $2,900 in 2012 dollars.

That must be the same border Lio uses when he busts in on other comic strips.

    Cheep-O? Very tacky.

@runar: Sounds like you got more Bang for your buck.

I’d still use mine if I could get a new stylus for it.

Should be able to find one on the Net !!
(I’ve replaced 2 turntable belts this year and there were a bunch of sites offering stylii.)

Alternatively, replace the whole cartridge if possible … (Don’t know if this is feasible with B&O).

You get what you pay for. Cybil has the right idea!

    Never liked Billy Ray Stylus.

    Never liked him at all.

@runar Fortunately my musical tastes have moved beyond Captain & Tenille and Freddie Fender. Gimme digital!

At least they’re honest about how shoddy their products are. Usually, when you buy stuff like that is comes with a name like,
    ‘Last-4-Ever’ or, “Super-Sturdee.”
