It does pay to get the very best. In 1975, I paid $700* for a Bang & Olufsen stereo system. 36 years later and I still use it.

Thanks everybody for your advice. I’ll do a bit of on line research for UK outlets. There’s nowhere locally that can oblige as all the independents have gone out of business and the B&O shops have been no help.
