   does anyone make a good dagwood sandwich? heard that hollywood tried to make a real-life version of the blondie and dagwood comic strip into a movie or a tv series.

   There were a series of 28 Movies made in the late 30s and 40s, starring Penny Singleton and Arthur Lake.
   There were also two short lived T.V. Series made.

   I estimate there were about 20 Blondie movies (B&W) by the 50s. (Several years ago, they were on AMC Sunday mornings)
   They were also very popular on radio, but several tries at TV failed.
   I suspect it was difficult to find someone to look/act like Mr. Dithers, as most of the movies had a new boss that had bought out Dithers. (Ratcliff or Radcliff?)

    Why not, back in the 1930’s Blondie was the first female comic strip character to be shown in her underwear.
