Here’s the link to the original art—-complete with truly bizarre mistake—-and a bit of commentary.

Women are always right — all you have to do is ask them…

When it was this color of device or this or that item, the “I’m always right” business wasn’t a major thing. Annoying when it was a matter of false pride, but it didn’t destroy the culture.
    .
When women abandoned western civilization in the late 1980s and 1990s for a modern form of Hedonism, the “I’m always right” when absolutely wrong on moral issues, life and death issues, etc., became the seeds of death for the culture.
    .
I miss the days when women were a civilizing influence.

    Time to go, man.

Looking at the original artwork, I saw snow with clouds above. Anyway, why shouldn’t trees float? I’m thinking of those plants in the Sahara that get blown about until they reach water, then open out and flower.

In the original art it doesn’t look like a floating tree, but rather a branch of a tree (not terribly well drawn I conceed), the rest of the tree hidden by the door frame. Just a thought.

I’m sorry that you see modern women as such amoral creatures leading us on a path to destruction. Frankly, I think that is still primarily the role of men. I believe that women are still generally the civilizing influenece (there are exceptions, sure, but there were always exceptions). I’d have to hear some specifics re: women being on the wrong side on moral issues, life and death issues, etc. before I’d agree with your conclusions about the death of the culture.

You could be right. But I think it’s more likely a mistake. Why deliberately put in something that just looks funky?

If a man is walking through the woods, talking to himself with no one else around, is he still wrong?

Yes, I was going to say something about, Well, he’s with you, so … doesn’t that prove he’s not smart, and possibly right? But then you expressed better than I ever would have.

The artist was tired of drawing clouds? Or maybe his pen slipped and he had to meet a deadline? It could happen!

Not a floating tree, John. A small, green nuclear explosion. All the rage then. As for the modern woman and hedonism, the elements of degeneration in our society are not for women only. Men play their own part. Society evolves, maybe not to our liking, but it evolves.
Lastly, I have been extremely busy and have missed a couple of weeks. Catching up I see John had a BIG birthday. Happy birthday, guy.
