    “…want to dress up like a savage like Heidi Klum?” I thought if I typed the end of the last quote, I’d understand it better. I can only get that he’s wondering why women want to dress like an under-fed, skeletal model…the word savage" isn’t really very necessary here (?) ;)

    And yet, she was married to Seal, which might indicate an openness to minorities. Maybe, as a German, she isn’t aware she can’t dress up like a Native American in a professional shoot.

    Oh my God, she better not dress up like Queen Elizabeth I or Marie Antoinette either.

    Two possibilities from the bad syntax – one, Lalo is saying Klum is a savage and people “still” want to dress like her (implying that people have been doing it for a while). Or, his intent might have been that people like Klum want to dress like savages (in which case Lalo is calling Native Americans savage).

    Either way, Lalo is stooping to name-calling.

    Seems to me that the way it is worded is that Heidi wants to dress like NA “savages” – doesn’t appear to be very sensitive for a strip like this…

    @ORMouseworks

    The natives of this land were called “savages” even in our founding documents.

    I don’t see the difficulty in understanding how Lalo is using turn about is fair play here. See my previous comment.

    Hmm, your reply indicates you think it’s all right to label people or groups by name-calling. I thought the goal these days is for more tolerance and understanding.

    Why pick on Heidi? She’s one of the least offensive characters in the public eye. She doesn’t promote self destructive behavior to the kids like the Rap crowd. Cut the lady some slack, nobody is 100% even 80% of the time. Enjoy the day…

    It’s not really Ms. Klum, she probably just sees some pretty clothes and a paycheck. It’s the fashion industry as a whole feeling it’s A-ok to appropriate Native American culture for exotic effect, often without paying anything in return.

    @SKJAM!

    Who pays royalties to the Irish on 3/17?
    Who pays royalties to Mexicans on Cinco de Mayo? (The drunken party that Busch built) The world’s getting way too sensitive, everyone is a victim.
