   If all 50 secede from the United States, then it wouldn’t be the “United States of America”; plus you’d have a passport when going through each one of them.

   I kinda like the follow-up petition, the one that says anyone petitioning to secede should be stripped of their citizenship and deported.

   Constitutional Convention, if that fails …. well then time to read up on Thomas Jefferson’s ideas on keeping Democracy fresh and viable. Looks like we are perilously close to having an Oligarchy style government.

   The odds of even 1 state seceding from the union is as likely as blocking Obamas 2nd term. Nothing is stopping the dissatisfied citizens of the USA from leaving anytime they want. I remember when Bush won there was a lot of talk of moving to Canada. Just sour grapes that mittens lost.

   It would be interesting if the USA said “Okay, you get one year. Starting tomorrow no tax money to help you but if you call for help from the USA you are back in the Union.” Even so very few have called for succession. Most of the population has evinced no interest in such a stupid idea.
