    They’re doing better than I am. The last time any of our kids visited was the Sunday before Christmas. And one of them lives all of fifteen miles away.

    My three older grandkids have withdrawn. That’s ok – they are who they are. I’m not going to force them to schmooze with me if they don’t want to any more. (We’re still on okay terms; they’d just rather sit in their rooms and text or whatever.)

    We have no grandkids. But my own now adult children do not contact their own grandma who lives by hwy 10 mins away.My mom/grandma calls constantly on the phone.

    Last Friday I had dinner with my granddaughter at her new apt. My daughter came over to so we had a very nice eveing.

    Physical presence is not required
    just as physical presence is not sufficient.
