There is a video on YouTube of an elephant sticking his trunk up the butt of another elephant, taking out a big glob of you-know-what. And eating it.

If I remember aright, there is also another coffee made from beans that went through the digestive process of a particular breed of cat.

it’s called Kopi Luwak. and it goes through the digestive system of the civet, a cat-like animal that’s not quite a cat, however, most people think of it as a cat.

Like you, I used to hate coffee. Loved the smell, but the taste was horrible. Then, around age 40, for reasons I don’t recall, I took a sip of fresh-brewed coffee — and it was delicious. That was almost 15 years ago, and I can’t get enough of the stuff now. (Can’t stand the instant stuff, though. Or dark roast, without lots o’ milk.)

What I want to know is, how the heck was it determined in the first place that undigested coffee beans were good? Who the heck was the first person to try it, and WHY? Was it the same person who invented sword-swallowing? (It takes a year to train the throat muscles not to gag when a sword is inserted in the mouth and esophagus, so how did the first person to do so ever learn?)
