Going through elephant poop to find the undigested coffee beans so they can be used is probably one of the worst jobs ever.

Considering all the types of coffee made from undigested beans I guess its something of a relative matter :). Also tending to the elephants that have eaten said coffee plants in the first place must be a pain too.

There are a couple of places in the world where coffee growers fall down laughing at the idiots who buy these beans. It’s supposed to be decaffeinated, not defecated.

Joe doesn’t have to suffer in Philadelphia. Wawa is a regional convenience store chain named for its hometown just west of Philly, which in turn is named for a Native American word for goose (a goose appears in Wawa’s logo). Found throughout the Philly area, Wawa is famous for its excellent and reasonably-priced coffee.

I’m not sure defecated coffee beans are decent.

After years of only seeing Wawa on the on the road to the in-laws (Brunswick MD), they started showing up locally (Tidewater, VA) about 4 years ago.

I saw a new Wawa in Pinellas Park, FL (just above St. Petersburg) the other day.

I’d heard of coffee made from the beans excreted by civets in Sumatra (otherwise known, among other terms, as “cat poop coffee”), but not this. Yummo.

And there is one more reason I am glad I do NOT drink coffee…

I work at a South Jersey Wawa. Elephant Poop Coffee is on the way! (just kidding) I don’t even drink coffee so I can’t speak to the quality of Wawa’s product, though they do make a wicked peppermint hot chocolate.
