There haven’t been any drone attacks on Americans on US soil , yet. But what was Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, a 16-year-old born in Denver and killed by a drone in Yemen, actually guilty of? Having the DNA of a terrorist father in him?

Apparently he was “in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Some of us WISH the filibuster would go back to the old Robert’s Rules version, as it was before the ‘70s.

And trying to filibuster against EVERY US president having unlimited powers when almost the entire balance of the Senate agrees this is absolutely essential to keep America safe in a world with jihadist goatherds seems close to Mr Smith’s solitary filibuster.

But, since the requisite majority of 60 Senators agreed with the confirmation of one of those who worked hard to justify those unlimited powers, almost everyone agrees that Rand Paul is a complete nutcase.

I read the link you provided Mickey, mostly because I was curious to see if there had been any collateral deaths. Sounds as if the young man was a collateral kill. It is disturbing they chose to use a missile to kill ANYONE in a location where it is expected innocent people would have been working or simply passing by. If I am innocently eating a meal with my wife and friends on the patio of a restaurant, I would not want law enforcement to feel it acceptable for us and our waitress to be killed in gunfire aimed at the drug cartel members eating at the table near us. Whether in the US, London, or Cairo. These people may be threats, but there’s a time and a place for things.
    Thanks for the link, Mickey.
    Respectfully,
    C.

Ron Paul is not a politician that I’m particularly interested in, but at least when he threatened a filibuster he actually did a filibuster.

If drones had been available at Ruby Ridge or for use against that that whacko, David Koresh (sp?), would they have been used?

How about if a more wicked president were in power? Bush Died & Dick Cheney got in?
Name your nightmare: Obama & Biden were taken out together & Speaker Boehner inherited the job?

Joel apparently didn’t listen to a word Sen. Paul said, hence his usual nonsensical comic.

This is a major clue as to where your stance on politics comes from.
    .
To be honest, even republicans are smarter than dogs, you are one strange guy.
    .
Dogs do not have language, fact. Nor do they understand english, french or german.
    .
Other facts exist in the world also, many of them are fascinating and helpful to know.

I could tolerate that better than “pass it and then figure it out” Nancy Pelosi…

“Rand Paul is not a politician that I’m particularly interested in.”

I think it’s going to be interesting to watch his political evolution. he espouses to be a Libertarian and in some respects follows that ideology. He still has way too many republican social positions to be considered a “real” libertarian but hopefully that will change.

He has picked up a lot of his Dad’s popularity amongst the college age group and I consider that a hope for the future. The college students are very disillusioned with both political parties and feel like they have been left to inherit an onerous mess to contend with and are open to new ideologies.

Let him talk. The more he talks the more America will see how unfit he is to be POTUS.

The use of “drones” is irrelevant. A sniper, or hit man, can accomplish the same effect stateside, with much less fuss, and greater accuracy.

When living in a foreign country, waging war on America, as either a gunman, or “planner”, you are no longer a “citizen”, but a “target”, period.

Maybe Rand and others should eliminate those elements of laws like the"Patriot act’, “Military Commissions Act”, and “Defense Authorization Acts”, that they wrote, or voted for???
