Keep an eye on your paycheck this month for a little gift from the Obama administration. Didn’t he promise he’d only raise taxes on the rich?

Do you live in a “Death Spiral” state? More takers than makers?

No, but when his new banker friend from Nigeria gets back to him, he’ll be rolling in LOTS more than that.

    From the article:
    []
Speaker of the South Carolina House Bobby Harrell, R-Charleston, says the article from Forbes is wrong, especially in calling members of the military, public employees and retirees “takers”.

Thanks for clarification, however it does not mean that it should not be a concern.

the 1% took a little hit at the top, but the majority are still taking it to the Caymons and other places and NOW their tax cuts are PERMANENT!

Last week, the New York Times published a widely discussed article updating an argument that progressive bloggers noticed a very long time ago. It’s now well-understood that blue states generally export money to the federal government; and red states generally import it.

that 47% thing is totally unrealistic…I draw /SS, and still pay
taxes on it, sales tax on what I buy, tax on my gasoline,
even pay tax on my nightly beer…a middle finger salute to
you guys who dinigerate the 47% as “takers”

Bush tax cuts were supposed to expire in 10 years, but were extended to cover the economic recovery needed following Bush’s policies. Same with the temporary payroll tax cut, which only hurt SS finances. Now we have to listen to complaints about the debt ceiling, which needs to be raised because the debt is what we’ve already spent. I’m tired of Republicans complaining about financing something like hurricane relief, and asking that it be “offset” by spending cuts, usually in entitlements. As much as they complain about waste, fraud and abuse in the budget, I never read where they have actually introduced a bill to combat that. They are more interested in adding to our defense budget for programs the Pentagon says it doesn’t need, but they never ask for “offsets” there!
