that 47% thing is totally unrealistic…I draw /SS, and still pay taxes on it, sales tax on what I buy, tax on my gasoline, even pay tax on my nightly beer…a middle finger salute toyou guys who dinigerate the 47% as “takers”
Bush tax cuts were supposed to expire in 10 years, but were extended to cover the economic recovery needed following Bush’s policies. Same with the temporary payroll tax cut, which only hurt SS finances. Now we have to listen to complaints about the debt ceiling, which needs to be raised because the debt is what we’ve already spent. I’m tired of Republicans complaining about financing something like hurricane relief, and asking that it be “offset” by spending cuts, usually in entitlements. As much as they complain about waste, fraud and abuse in the budget, I never read where they have actually introduced a bill to combat that. They are more interested in adding to our defense budget for programs the Pentagon says it doesn’t need, but they never ask for “offsets” there!

Keep an eye on your paycheck this month for a little gift from the Obama administration. Didn’t he promise he’d only raise taxes on the rich?

Do you live in a “Death Spiral” state? More takers than makers?

Considering many of the posts I see, why do you care if Caymans is mis-spelled? Trivial Pursuit anyone?

And yet the wealthy still claim they’re being treated as a pinata. I just don’t understand why any “blue collars” remain in the Republican Party.
