Barry’s Healthcare Welfare is on a roll.
What happened to “lowering everybody’s premiums by $2500 a year”?
What about the “Net savings to taxpayers will be Billions”?
Here’s an interesting article about the “success” of Obamacare…………….
“The good news, if you want to call it that, is that roughly 1.6 million Americans have enrolled in ObamaCare so far.
The not-so-good news is that 1.46 million of them actually signed up for Medicaid.
If that trend continues, it could bankrupt both federal and state governments.
Medicaid is already America’s third-largest government program, trailing only Social Security and Medicare, as a proportion of the federal budget. Almost 8 cents out of every dollar that the federal government spends goes to Medicaid. That’s more than $265 billion per year……..

And it’s going to get worse……
The Congressional Budget Office projects that, in part because of ObamaCare, Medicaid spending will more than double over the next 10 years, topping $554 billion by 2023".
And that is just federal spending.
State governments pay another $160 billion for Medicaid today. For most states, Medicaid is the single-largest cost of government, crowding out education, transportation and everything else.
New York spent more than $15 billion on Medicaid last year, roughly 30% of all state expenditures. The Kaiser Foundation projects that over the next 10 years, New York taxpayers will shell out some $433 billion for the program.

It won’t be so bad. Most physicians refuse to accept Medicaid patients. So no way to spend that money.

Maybe so but it seems that those who do are getting very rich or maybe it is all going to the cost of running the program, ie overhead.

    @Gore Bane

Opt out how? The so called Obamacare deals with health insurance. Are said doctors planning to no longer accept insurance?

So, we have ConserveGov complaining that Medicaid is the 3rd largest item on the Federal Budget. Newsflash! Private healthcare costs are eating up our GDP even faster. The GOP solution still seems to be letting people go uninsured.

Then we have Tigger suggesting people will die because they can’t get treatment under Medicaid, while ignoring the fact that the same group of people were already dying because they had no health care coverage whatsoever.

Neither tops Warbucks, who talks about his doctor moving back to the Confederacy, in order to avoid a “race war”.

Doctors are under no obligation to accept patients from any insurance group. Some are promising not to accept the new ACA insurance plans.

This is a real problem, but it totally ignores the fact that many doctors already rejected patients who weren’t covered by plans that paid doctors generously. It ignores the fact that few doctors will see anyone who doesn’t have insurance.
