The color doesn’t matter. When facts become so interspersed with lies the line blurs. We need laws making it illegal for politicians to lie about their positions or the positions of their opponents. Are the Repubs getting desperate in trying to distract attention from their lies, or WHAT?
Yesterday on FOX, they finally admitted that Obama used the term. ‘terror attack’ in his Rose Garden speech, “but he didn’t specifically apply it to the Benghazi attacks, he meant terror in GENERAL.”
Their only evidence for that idiotic assertion was ‘“because we SAID so, that’s why!"
And the sad fact is, the Tea-Party Repubs will accept that as Gospel.
Assuming I agree that the president did call the attack in Benghazi a terror event can you explan why he then had 14 days of saying the event was sparked by an old youtube video, was a spontaneous protest and did so repeatedly being reinforced by his press secretary, the secretary of state and the un ambassador?
If the truth were known – and I assume he did know from day one – why the lies and spin about a video?
Something people are not talking about. How is it that during the debate, of the few papers Candy Crowley had in front of her, one of them just happen to be the transcript from the rose garden?
It appeared to me, that it was on the botton of the pile just waiting for the moment.
Now if you want to play spin doctor for the administration go ahead. The fact is that the thrust of every interview or statement was to deflect the notion of a planned terrorist attack and to direct your attention to a video.
My question remains and you have not answer it. Why did the administration – including Obama at the UN address – want to direct attention away from the truth – which they had access to within 24 hours – and blame it on the video? Are they that far out of the loop? Do they have NO organization at all?
Oh and Simon, I said “Assuming I agree that the president did call the attack in Benghazi a terror event”. I’m not arguing the fact that he said the words “acts of terror” in his speech. I’m saying it is debatable that his intention was to call the event in Benghazi a terrorist attack. Why? Because of the concerted effort on the part of the president and his minions to direct our attention to a video as the precipitating factor.

Perhaps they should change the “FACT” stones to “FIBS” or “MYTH”. It would fit politicians more appropriately.

Now, have you got a transcript of him ,or his UN ambassador, connecting the attack to that you-tube vid?
And remember, it has to be a specific connection to the Benghazi attack, NOT the protests that were going on at the same time in Libya and elswhere.
