Never should have taken it in the first place. We just sell weapons to them all.

So we send our boys and girls to stand in the whirlwind and what – pray tell, Mr. Cheney – are they supposed to reap? Really. Going to war righteously is one thing; going to war righteously blind and then – for toppers!! – charging the deaths dismemberment and materials on the National Credit Card, well, that is simply something else.

Isolationism is once again running rampant.

The unofficial history is that World War I was a big mistake, a senseless war that took place partly because generals on both sides had learned in military schools that a clever general can always win by taking the offensive against the enemy’s weakest point, but the new defensive weapons meant every attack resulted in the slaughter of the attackers, so both sides foolishly remained certain of a quick victory for four years while millions of soldiers died uselessly.

The official history is that the world was threatened by the Kaiser, an early version of Hitler, and it was essential to liberty, democracy, and peace to defeat the Kaiser’s aggression (even German and Japanese history books must agree to this, since they lost WWII unconditionally).

My father said victory came when the British developed an effective tank. I read a history book that said it was new, more accurate French artillery that could target German troops in their trenches. The New York Times says the world was about to fall to the Kaiser’s aggression, the Allies were helpless, and the US stepped in to save the world.

The official history says that, after WWI, the US withdrew into isolationism, which was the ultimate cause of WWII (the proximate cause was Axis aggression).

Since WWII, the US has managed to preserve the peace by its peacekeeping efforts in Korea, Vietnam, Latin America (too many places to list individually), Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya, but now some foolishly want to return to isolationism, when what is desperately needed is for the US to send about 100 million peacekeeping soldiers against the warmongers before they can start a war.

The problem with playing policeman is that we don’t get paid to do it. This kind of socialism has to end.

Why have good Americans died in Iraq? Why are they dying for Afghanistan? It has been long over due for the rest of the world to stop relying on us and start helping themselves.

As “policemen” we go to a country and be targets, while trying to teach people who don’t want to play nicely with each other how to play nicely with each other. Meanwhile we funnel tens of billions of dollars to military contractors, who in turn donate a part of that back to the politicians who made it all possible in the first place.

The “world’s policeman” supplies Israel with the weaponry it uses to maintain its apartheid state, facilitated a neo-nazi coup in the Ukraine, and let’s not even talk about Iraq. World’s policeman? More like world’s protection racket.

May I suggest you read or re-read “Guns of August” ,,, It gives the reader a slightly different perspective on the aggression, national interests, excuses for war, on both sides…

“Why have good Americans died in Iraq? Why are they dying for Afghanistan?”
We have a right-wing war-machine group that is making a profit on these wars. And, they like to tell others what to do and how to run their lives. Often in direct opposition of what they do themselves.

That was never our job in the first place. The only reason we’re in constant war is to supply the military contractors with endless streams of money.

Obama is worst then an isolationist! We do not have to be police of thew world but we sure need to be the biggest bad @$$es in the world! Obama is a wus! I called it Palin called it! A weak America gives others the power to the bullies like Russia to walk in and do their will. Mitt called them out as the biggest geopolitical threat, Obama just laughed! Well now Putin is telling us and the world to Crimea a river and get over it! Under Obama’s “lead from the behind” apologize for, ignore our allies, strategy, we are now a bigger joke then France after WWII! And when Obama asked for help from our one time Allies only France stood up and said they might help, you know if they did not have to wash it’s hair or what ever!
Obama is out there in the water with his water wings over his head! The world knows it and is pointing and laughing! And will someone give Kerry a Peace Prize already so he will shut up and let the real men do the job of deciding peace!

(Son, belligerent, jingoistic, and incoherent is no way to go through life!)

The US generally succeeds in uniting warring factions against it for as long as it’s over there. Once we come home, they go back to killing each other. Whatever happens, it’s sure to be our fault if we do or don’t do anything.

And Obama has cut and run leaving the check behind, to him we owe them nothing. In doing so he was the butterfly wing that set off these water spouts!
