    Valid point indeed, Mr. Morin.

    Yes, Harley. Your comment is indeed a fail.

    As for the cartoon, we don’t need to go there with the growing number of mass shootings. The US is no stranger to terrorism perpetrated by its own citizens. The Oklahoma City bombing was carried out by Americans against their own country, and let’s not forget about the Unibomber. Then there is all the nastiness that was carried out during the civil rights movement and before that. Lynchings, cross burnings, and setting churches on fire were acts of terrorism.

    Stats show suicides don’t decrease when guns decrease. The means change.
    So irrelevant to the discussion.

    @Nos Nevets

    To clarify: Irrelevant only after removing the suicide deaths from the death-by-gun stats, since (statistically) those suicides would happen anyway.

    What stats are those? Try this one: “Of the more than 32,000 firearm-related deaths in 2011, almost 20,000 — 62 percent — were suicides.” Furthermore, “Sure, people will find other ways to attempt suicide, but nothing is nearly as deadly as firearms, which are fatal 85 percent of the time they’re used in an attempt to take one’s life. By contrast, “Many of the most widely used suicide attempt methods have case fatality rates below 5 percent,” according to data from the Harvard School of Public Health.”
    So, no, you’re not correct. Try again.

    And the Atlanta Olympics bombing? That was Muslim terrorists? Right?
    Nope. Homegrown Pro-life, Anti-Gay, white dude.

    The US has had more bombings by Right-Wing “Conservative” Extremists than by Radical Muslim groups.
    So any new bombing must be made by…

    “Radical Muslim Groups: They’re just trying to catch up!”

    Well Jim,
    Most Americans do not target other Americans. You are correct; however, you forgot to mention it’s the deranged Americans who can always find ways to get a gun who kill other Americans.

    race, religion, sex, etc do not matter in the case of someone who kills someone else….they are all classified as murderers.
