What will he say to Barry when under his watch 1 in 6 Americans live in poverty, 48 million need food stamps to survive and black unemployment is at 14%?

FYI—-Ken Livingston, the former mayor of London, had this to say today regarding the former Prime Minister.
    -
“She created today’s housing crisis. She created the banking crisis. And she created the benefits crisis. It was her government that started putting people on incapacity benefit rather than register them as unemployed because the Britain she inherited was broadly full employment. She decided when she wrote off our manufacturing industry that she could live with two or three million unemployed, and the benefits bill, the legacy of that, we are struggling with today. In actual fact, every real problem we face today is the legacy of the fact that she was fundamentally wrong.”

Mr. “Red” Ken Livingstone is full of sour grapes. She took a bankrupt nation (caused by Ken’s cronies) and returned a semblance of what it once was.

Before Baroness Thatcher if the unions said jump the nation shook – I remember the dead not being buried, the rubbish not being collected, not being able to go to hospital and not being able to have a warm meal – everything caused by those union fellows who wanted to feather their own nests.

Housing crisis? Baroness Thatcher allowed people in social housing to become owners of their own home. An attempt to stop this was caused by the Labour councils. She tried to reduce the hold Government had peoples lives. Something that is hated by Mr. Livingston.

She had her principles, and stuck by them. Most people can respect (even if they do not like them.)

That’s a question a lot of politicians should be answering now.

Hey, bin Laden had his principles, so by your reasoning he deserves respect. Great.

Jesus of Nazareth: When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

For this cartoon, Fritzoid, and on the topic of the poor specifically, thank you for your contribution. I do not know Ms. Thatcher’s religious convictions but the message you post here is a reminder to all who are very rich and put power over people.
I suggest that Ms. Thatcher did not act to enrich herself, so she may do better than many when explaining herself at that gate.
    Sincerely,
    C.

Same thing he’ll say to Boehner, Cantor, McConnell and all the other Republicans that keep them there.

Margaret Thatcher was just another extremely rich person who achieved political power and used it to buttress her own class. Being born into wealth (and having married into it as well), she felt a sense of ENTITLEMENT that conservatives don’t like to talk about: the entitlement of class that can only be fed by eating the poor.

He’ll say “You should have steamrollered over the Republicans in the first 6 months instead of naively believing that they were capable of compromise or that they cared about anything except their bottom lies.”

Of course, none of this has anything to do with Mitch McConnell’s stated goal of making Obama a failure & the ensuing 400+ Republican filibusters – of jobs bills, transportation bills, middle class tax cuts, financial regulations … .
Does anyone imagine this blocked legislation was chosen at random? Republicans deliberately did as much damage as they could. So who’s to blame for the problems you cite?
