    Cute, but no. They’re out of whack, they’re out of whack especially in the US, and they are encouraged by this by people like the GOP who make it easy for them to dodge taxes on obscene salaries.

    A weak attempt at humor that completely distorts reality. Those who are having trouble with their student loans could only wish they made a tenth of what these CEOs are making. The income structure of US society has become increasingly unbalanced.

    In the days of 91% income tax on unearned income, and 50% tax on earned income, CEOs earned about 10 times as much as the median employee. As Ms Rand pointed out in Atlas Shrugged, if the US hadn’t abandoned that ridiculous system and allowed CEO salaries to rise to at least 400 times the median employee’s salary, all those Atlases would have shrugged and the US economy would now be just like (pick a suitable Randian answer).

    Ya darn right! That explains the GOP attacks on the Estate Tax, the Marginal Tax Rate, and the Capital Gains Tax.

    .
    How was the Kool Aid this morning?
    .
    The democrats are known for liking the complicated tax laws that permit that kind of tax dodging so they can tell the Kool Aid drinking ignorant “we are sticking it to the rich” while the rest of us foot that bill.
    .
    GOP is guilty of ALOT of stupidity, but the tax code is all yours.

    The pattern for the present tax code was written by Donald Regan (with help) under the orders of Ronald Reagan.

    @echoraven

    The tax code is a product of both parties. The elimination of the estate tax, the Bush tax cuts, the special tax rates for private equity firms (initiated by Romney in his Bain days, incidentally) — all Republicans.
    The Democrats have often taken advantage of this, but when you look at the past thirty years, they are not the ones promoting tax cuts for the rich as their primary economic stimulus! And anyone who says otherwise (e.g., PAJ) simply isn’t paying attention.
