Jeff Danziger provides a scathing international take on politics, finance, and everything else you aren’t allowed to discuss at the dinner table. Combining spot-on caricatures with razor-sharp writing, this feature will make you listen a little more closely to what they tell you on the news.

More power to the Russian people!

For decades, the USSR made its living by selling weapons. Apparently they still have large stockpiles; only now they need foreign capital to bolster their commercial sector. So, if Syria’s willing to pay…

And this, right or wrong, has to do with this cartoon? Unless you are suggesting the Israelis are selling to Russia or Syria???

Weapons sale is a key, if not major support of the Israeli economy, to “third world” nations. BTW, until recently, a majority of Israeli citizens were from, or first generation descendants, of Russian, or “Soviet Block” refugees. Maybe the “mental process” is just carryover??
One major component of the income was refurbishing Russian “Hind” helicopters and re-selling them, so selling TO Russia, no, but FROM Russia?

When you live in a tough neighborhood you do what you have to to survive. Rich men can afford to scorn apple thieves.

^When you move INTO a tough neighborhood, with a chip on your shoulder, you WILL find “trouble”. (It’s not just the club you carry, but the one you SELL that leads to even more “troubles”.)

A brief look at history will remin you that the Israelis moved into this already hostile neiborhood because it was their “promised homeland”. I don’t buy it either, but then there are a lot of things in a lot of religions I don’t buy.

“The world should agree that arms sales be the exclusive domain of the American capitalist – you know, the good guys.”
-————————————-… with no discrimination regarding their clients, who might well be “the bad guys”!
Iran-Contra? Not important – MAKE A PROFIT for the military-industrial complex.
Sadaam Hussein? Friend when the complex needs more profit; enemy when they need even more profit.
Mexican drug cartels? H-m-m-m – maybe a little far-fetched. (?)
Indiscriminate as long as the money keeps coming in.
