Dude, the volt was a “concept” car first unveiled in 2007 developed by GM from work done starting in the 90’s (chevy’s EV1 concept). It was developed by the private sector not the government under bush though no doubt there was some involvement through subsidies for R&D through tax breaks that any business may qualify for.
Once the bailout occurred and we the people became shareholders in GM thus making it a government entity and the volt became President Obama’s featured vehicle it was finally released for public consumption in the US in 2010. So that is bush’s plan? Who knew bush controlled so much.?
Obama has the push on for the independence from oil. Hence, that energy policy is, and will, drive gas prices up, to the point that the Volt will be the only auto option affordable to drive. Obamacare stresses going from a sickness healthcare, to a wellness healthcare. Hence the health system forceing the individual to an overly healthy diet, or the premiums would be higher. Also, forced exercise. A health system here in Ohio already stated this as part of Obamacare.
“The Volt was planned, designed, and marketed under Bush. Why do cons keep blaming Obama for it? Oh, yeah. Dumb question.” Obama’s the one who pushed the trillion-dollar bailouts. Obama’s the one who gave boatloads of money to green companies after Bush rejected the idea. Obama’s the one who said O-care would cost half of what it really will. Why do libs keep blaming Bush? Dumb question.
You sure are pulling overestimated numbers out of your nether regions in a truly typical partisan fashion. Please provide the basis for your “trillion dollar bailouts.” And although $527 Million was wasted on Solyndra, that’s nothing compared to the amount used to subsidize big oil companies, farmers, loggers, ranchers, Boeing, and lots of other pet projects of the republicans.
Right. If Obamacare is found to be Constitutional (which it is NOT), then what’s to stop the government from mandating that we do everything in this cartoon and more? Apparently, to liberal lawmakers, we’re too stupid to take care of ourselves, but we’re “smart” enough to elect them???
I keep hearing that some how the big bad oil companies are “subsidize” when in fact Obama wants to do away with “tax subsidies” that any industry can take advantage of. The Volt on the other hand has been bought and paid for buy mommy government at almost every stage. From the grants and tax breaks for the batteries, to the free over blown publicity for no other reason that it was new and different. When one looks at the true cost vs retail you get a almost 100% mark up and mommy government still gives a cash rebate for the “all electric” car. Of course one could also say the same thing about Obama.
The fuss about the “individual mandate” is a prime example of the hyper-partisanship of republicans, and a kind of hypocrisy that verges on insanity.
