Does Dean feel empathy… or a inkling of his future?

For Dean, it is a cautionary tale. There but for the grace of Heart (and the other love interest whose name I’ve forgotten,) goes he.

I think Dean is about to make a connection with a lost soul.

I’m going with your perspective, everyone else here seem to be too eager to, or trying very hard to Jinx/Doom Dean here…

I bet Dean is going to get him a “Sir Henry Samson” doll

: D That would be wonderful! (I’ve also been thinking Dean would make a connection here… soften the old guy up a bit.)

Dean is a good kid. He’ll do something nice, I’m sure.

I second that. I believe Dean is going to try and find those toys that man had destroyed on him. Maybe even make those cousins of that man pay for the replacements.

I get the feeling of “So shines a good deed in a weary world.”

Dean will ask the man to make him his apprentice!

No doubt this guy is obsessive, but at least you know where he’s coming from, unlike the mysterious Mr. Hazzil from a while back, whose secret has yet to come to light, assuming that it ever will.
