So Leia would be Scarlett & Han Rhett?

Dean would then learn about the “biz” part of showbiz as he negotiates between Lucasfilm and Margaret Mitchell’s estate.

Actually, that combination is not so far-fetched. They were both action-romances.

Same story … different time.

Someday they might remake GWTW as a TV miniseries, and stick closer to the book than the movie did. There are a ton of characters they left out, such as the two children from Scarlett’s first two marriages and Prissy’s mother. They could also include the stuff about the Ku Klux Klan, which was barely hinted at in the film; Rhett, Ashley and Frank Kennedy were all members.

Could be done…after all, it was never specified WHEN the star wars action was happening. Could have been during the civil war here on earth…

As long as it doesn’t have the GWTW running time!

Keep the original Gone With the Wind and just insert Jar-Jar Binks in all the scenes.

Yes, that would work- “Yes, Meesa! Jar-Jar obey Meesa! Jar-Jar love slaving for Meesa!”

There’s some dialog in Empire Strikes Back that’s almost word for word from GWTW: “You like me because I’m a scoundrel.” “I happen to like nice men.” etc.

When was the last time you saw GWTW or read the book? I think you must have forgotten a lot of details… I read the book after I saw the film and I was so surprised how close the film was to the details of the book, including the settings, clothes, and songs that were described in the book. Of course, the script had to condense some things, but over all the film was extremely close.
