    Deans’ cat is named after Mr Spock from Star Trek

    Dr Spock wrote a book on parenting that helped to mess up a lot of my generation

    Heart gets taken away by a creature living in sewer. I’m thinking “Beauty and The Beast”, coming Next Week.

    I know people who hate Dr. Spock for his politics, but swear by his child-rearing methods.
    Funny thing, it seems to me.

    @sjsczurek

    I was never aware of his politics. Please share.
    And I grew up with Mr. Spock, not Dr. Spock, as well. Devoted my life to the pursuit of IDIC.

    @Doctor Toon: “Dr Spock wrote a book on parenting that helped to mess up a lot of my generation”

    Nonsense. That was a deliberate lie invented by the Nixon administration. Dr. Spock was an opponent of the Vietnam War. The Nixon spin doctors decided to undermine Spock with the accusation that a “let-the-kids-do-what-they-want” approach recommended in his famous child-rearing book was responsible for the youth rebellion in the 60s.

    Since the US news media never bothers to investigate the truth itself, this was repeated over and over until the average American thinks it’s accepted history. In reality, Dr. Spock called for treating kids with FIRMNESS and CONSISTENCY. But since when does truth matter in American politics?

    I think Mr Spock in “Star Trek” held several doctoral degrees.
